Prisoners Abroad
Help for prisoners
We provide services to all British prisoners in foreign jails, regardless of why they are in prison. If you know a prisoner abroad, contact us now to find out more about the services we offer.
We cannot get people out of prison or help find a lawyer. But we can take practical steps to safeguard the welfare of British prisoners anywhere in the world. If you know someone who might benefit from our services call our free helpline 0808 172 0098 (Mon-Fri, 9.30am-4pm). Calls are free from landlines.
Grants for food
We provide grants for basic food so that prisoners have enough to eat. In many countries prison food is inedible or simply doesn’t provide the nutrition needed to stay healthy.
Emergency medical care
Our grants pay for medical care for conditions, such as diabetes, which might otherwise go untreated.
Vitamins
We send vitamin supplements to help prisoners maintain their health in difficult conditions.
Freepost envelopes
We provide freepost international envelopes so that prisoners can keep in touch with home, even if they can’t buy stamps and paper.
Books and magazines
Our packages of books and magazines are a vital lifeline in a foreign prison, when there may be nobody else who speaks English.
Our job is to safeguard the welfare of every British prisoner abroad – guilty or innocent. Because basic human rights are for everyone.
As a family member of a British prisoner abroad, you are bound to be worried about their welfare. Simply contact us today to find out more about our services or ask any question. We’re always happy to listen.
